About The EDUCE Foundation

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is home to some of the finest colleges and universities in the world. Boston itself has more college students per capita than any other place in the United States. In the midst of such riches however there are high school students who work tirelessly to graduate from Massachusetts high schools, sometimes against extreme adversity, who are unable to attend college due simply to their financial circumstances. There are many programs for high academic achievers or athletes, but there are fewer alternatives for someone who may have to work to help support him or herself or family while attending school.
We have established The Educe Foundation in order to assist these deserving students in their efforts to attend college. The Foundation will provide our “Book Scholarship” to graduating seniors from Massachusetts high schools who intend to enroll at four-year colleges.
It is our goal to establish the Foundation as a self-supporting fund, which will be able to assist many students in a meaningful way rather than to attempt to fully fund a small number of students. This is an ambitious goal and will require the support and participation of many people to make it work.
Potential recipients will be asked to apply to the Foundation on an annual basis, and awards will be made without regard to race, color, gender, religion or ethnicity. Academic performance in high school will be a factor that will be considered in reviewing applications, but also the applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on less obvious and objective criteria, which demonstrate hard work, responsibility, and perseverance and good citizenship. While grants will only be made to students who need such assistance, no student will receive an award based solely on income. Financial circumstances will be considered but only in so far as such circumstances may be an additional obstacle that has been overcome by an applicant.
We ask that you please consider lending your support to The Educe Foundation and help make the dreams of deserving high school seniors a reality.
The Educe Foundation has been established as a Charitable 501(c)(3) Foundation and donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. All proceeds collected and donations received will be dedicated to the charitable purposes of the Foundation.
